Abstract

We have investigated photoluminescence (PL), scintillation, and dosimetric properties of the undoped and Tb-doped LiCaPO4 samples. The luminescence origin of the undoped and Tb-doped samples were ascribed to the self-trapped exciton (STE) and 4f-4f transitions of the Tb3+, respectively. In Thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL) glow curves, undoped samples showed main peak at 220 °C, and Tb-doped samples showed main peak at 130 °C. The Tb-doped samples demonstrated the more than 50 times higher TSL intensity than that of undoped one. In addition, the lowest measurable dose (LMD) of the Tb-doped samples were estimated to exceed 1 μGy.
