Abstract
This article reports a, study of an appropriate protocol for evaluating patients with large cup: disc ratio and normal intraocular pressure. Twenty-four patients were evaluated by various types of examinations. Computed tomography (CT) was found to be of only limited value and did not contribute to establishing the final diagnosis, suggesting that CT scanning of patients with a large cup:disc ratio should be performed only in cases in which clinical suspicion demands further investigation.
