Abstract

The increase of the insertion of photovoltaic generation (PVG) in the distribution networks can cause several electrical impacts. This paper aims to evaluate the ohmic losses in medium voltage (MV) feeders of the distribution network of utilities, in the presence of PVG. In general, the PVG connection tends to cause a reduction of the electrical losses in the medium voltage network. However, in this work will be shown, through several simulations using the software Simulight [1], cases in which the electrical losses increase with the insertion of PVG and the main factors influencing the electric losses.
