Abstract

Abstract Two Micromite formulations (25 W and 4 L) were compared to Alert 2 SC and Agri-Mek 0.15 EC + NR 435 Oil standard treatments for efficacy against CRM. A randomized block design was used with each treatment replicated 4 times on plots of 6 trees in a grove of 12-yr-old ‘Ruby Red’ grapefruit trees planted on 15 X 28 ft spacing. Treatment sprays were applied on 24 Apr and reapplied on 29 May, by an FMC 1229 commercial single volute sprayer with nozzling, pressure and speed calibrated to deliver 200 gpa. At each pre- and post-spray count, 25 fruit per replicate were randomly selected and examined for CRM in situ with a 10X handlens. All live CRM were counted in two, 1-sq-cm lens fields on the shaded side of each fruit. The two counts per fruit were averaged and recorded as one observation.
