Abstract

Diabetes is high cardiovascular risk factor, it's common in patients admitted in cardiology. the aim of the survey is to evaluate the management of diabetic patients by cardiologists. We realize a survey designed to cardiologists, it's about the frequency of diabetic patients, the support in primary prevention, the collaboration with diabetologists, the screening of patients, the therapeutic education program, the practice of physical activity, and the management of treatment. It was 70 cardiologists who participated to survey, 40% of patients admitted in cardiology are diabetic; 83% of cardiologists support patients in primary prevention, 85% of cardiologists refer patients to diabetologists when diabetes is confirmed, 61% collaborated with diabetologists, 89% make a systemic screening of patients, 70% of cardiologists make a specific therapeutic education and advice physical activity to patients and 50% of cardiologists manage and modify anti diabetic treatment. Most of cardiologists are conscious of primary prevention in diabetic patients, they advised physical activity and make therapeutic education to patients, they collaborate actively with diabetologists in the management of diabetic patient.
