Abstract

Asphalt mixture AC-13 was prepared using homemade salt storage additives to replace an equal volume of mineral powder. The study focused on the low-temperature anti-cracking and slow-release properties of the AC-13. The results indicate that the incorporation of salt storage additives gradually reduces the “bending tensile strength (RB )” and “maximum bending strain (εB )” of the AC-13. The εB of the salt storage bituminous mixture with a replacement rate of 100% is reduced by more than 10%, but it still meets the specifications. The analysis of slow-release performance reveals that the dissolution rate of snowmelt salt in the salt storage AC-13 is uniform, with a stable precipitation amount. The slow-release effect is good and long-lasting.
