Abstract

We present an evaluation of laser potentialities of Yb3+-doped solid-state laser cubic crystals from concentration dependences of the 2F5/2 experimental decay time. We shall analyze few oxi- de and fluoride crystals of 4N (99.99) purity for commercializa- tion which can be extended today to laser ceramics of the same composition. Experimental results will be related for two crys- tals: Yb3+-doped YAG garnet and Yb3+-doped KY3F10 fluoride.
