Abstract
1. The possibility has been demonstrated of using the internal friction method in order to plot French lines, i. e., in order to determine the number of cycles to the instant of irreversible fatigue-damage occurrence, not as a result of an additional experiment, but in the course of normal fatigue tests. 2. Plotting the fatigue curve and French line by the method developed on one graph makes it possible to determine material test life over a wide cyclic stress range. 3. Since fatigue and irreversible damage curves intersect at a stress level equal to the fatigue limit, this method may be used in order to accelerate determination of the fatigue limit.
