Abstract

Image fusion is an important application for collecting complementary and redundant information observed by different sensors into a single image. In this paper, various image fusion algorithms are compared for long-wave infrared (LWIR) and mid-wave infrared (MWIR) images. Infrared images were enhanced by various contrast enhancement algorithms and the effect of the enhancement on the fusion results is evaluated.
