Abstract

The flotation of chalcopyrite and chalcocite with four colloidal electrolyte collectors (sodium laurate, sodium oleate, sodium dodecyl sulfate and dodecyl amine acetate) and a chelate-forming compound (glyoxalidine) over the range pH 5–10.5 shows that flotation with these collectors is a much more complicated process than has been previously supposed. The glyoxalidine, is generally superior to the other collectors tested here and at a lower concentration.
