Abstract
Natural fibers are used in various applications like aerospace, automotive, construction, packaging, and home appliances. Natural fiber polymer composites possess less mechanical properties than synthetic fiber composites. Therefore, in the present investigation bamboo (B) and jute (J) natural fibers were hybridized with glass (G) synthetic fiber to improve mechanical property of composite materials. The effect of hydrothermal environment on flexural and vibration property of [GBJ]s, [GJB]s and [JBG]s hybrid composite were evaluated. [GJB]s hybrid composite possesses maximum natural frequency (43 Hz), modulus (8.6 GPa), and, flexural strength (109 MPa) as compared to other hybrid composites material. The flexural and vibration property of [GJB]s is high in both normal and hydrothermal environment shows the feasibility for home and automobile applications.
