Abstract

Li, H.; Xu, W.; Zhang, Y., and Wu, T., 2020. Evaluation of factors influencing the sustainable development of the marine equipment manufacturing industry cluster. In: Gong, D.; Zhang, M., and Liu, R. (eds.), Advances in Coastal Research: Engineering, Industry, Economy, and Sustainable Development. Journal of Coastal Research, Special Issue No. 106, pp. 440–444. Coconut Creek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208.According to the theoretical framework of comparative advantage, the industrial cluster and national strategy, and the current situation in the development of the marine equipment manufacturing industry, this study selects the labor market, average industry size, relative enterprise size, new products, total labor productivity, product sales rate, export capacity, and operating costs of eight factors to build an evaluation index system, thereby establishing an industrial cluster measurement model. The marine equipment manufacturing industry is then taken as the research object to calculate the industrial agglomeration index, perform regression analysis on the indicators that affect the sustainable development of each industrial cluster, and evaluate the effect of each industry cluster indicator through the analysis of the calculation results. Finally, this study provides suggestions and countermeasures for the sustainable development of the marine equipment manufacturing industry cluster.
