Abstract

There is a paucity of literature comparing facial trauma in patients from urban and rural settings. To our knowledge, this is the first study analyzing the differences in facial trauma in patients from urban and rural communities in the United States. The study was conducted to compare the frequency and distribution of facial fractures in patients from urban and rural populations to better patient care in hospitals serving both settings, while highlighting injury prevention techniques and areas of continued research need.
