Abstract

The ultrasonic velocity (U), density (ρ) and viscosity (η) have been measured for the binary mixture of 1-bromopropane + chlorobenzene at four different temperatures 303.15, 308.15, 313.15 and 318.15 K with fixed frequency 2 MHz. From the experimental data, the excess values of adiabatic compressibility (βad), intermolecular free length (Lf), molar volume (Vm),free volume (Vf) acoustic impedance (Z) and internal pressure (πi) have been computed and discussed in the light of molecular interactions in the mixture. The Redlich-Kister polynomial has been fitted to the calculated values of βadE, LfE,VfE,VmEand πiEfor the binary liquid mixtures.
