Abstract

In order to measure the efficiency of energy conservation and emission reduction in the nine major cities in the Pearl River Delta region, through in-depth analysis of the factors affecting the efficiency of energy conservation and emission reduction in the Pearl River Delta region, establish a comprehensive consideration indicator system of total energy consumption, investment in fixed assets, investment by social workers, expected output and undesired output. Based on the super-efficiency SBM model and the Malmquist index model, an empirical study on the static and dynamic efficiency of energy conservation and emission reduction in nine cities in the Pearl River Delta from 2008 to 2018 was carried out. The results showed: (1) The longitudinal comparison of the super-efficiency SBM analysis results showed that the energy-saving and emission-reduction efficiency of the Pearl River Delta region presented an overall upward trend. The horizontal comparison found that the energy-saving and emission-reduction efficiencies of the nine major cities showed significant differences during the study period. (2) Malmquist dynamic analysis showed that the energy-saving efficiency of the nine cities in the Pearl River Delta presented a steady upward trend as a whole, and the energy-saving and emission reduction efficiency values of the nine cities in the Pearl River Delta are all positively increasing.
