Abstract
Minimum Quantity Lubrication is an appropriate choice for machining since it is cleaner and more sustainable compared to conventional coolants. In this study, the performance of different oils in the turning of aluminium 6061 with minimal quantity lubrication (MQL) is compared to machining under dry circumstances. The MQL condition was studied using vegetable oil and hydraulic oil. Cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut (D.O.C.) are all changed in the experiment, and two values of each parameter are utilised. For the study, authors evaluated cutting performance in terms of force component (Fx,Fy, Fz) and Surface Roughness (Rc) along with chip shapes. The results show that the MQL utilizing vegetable and hydraulic oils produces a higher surface finish. Based on the outcomes. The MQL condition outperformed the others.
