Abstract

The aim of the present experimental endeavour is to gauge the influence of incorporating citrus limetta peel (CLP) fillers at diverse loadings (5%, 10% and 15%) on the dynamic mechanical properties of epoxy composites. The properties in terms of loss modulus E″, storage modulus E′ and glass transition temperature (Tg) were evaluated through dynamic analysis. It was found out that dynamic properties of the CLP based epoxy composites degrade extraordinarily by the assimilation of CLP fillers into epoxy based composites. However, among developed epoxy composites, the best properties are obtained with 5% of CLP loading. In order to understand the crystallinity of the developed epoxy composites, XRD analysis was also performed. It was revealed that the addition of CLP does not have any substantial effect on the developed composites. The effect of filler percentage on the hardness of the developed composites has also been evaluated. Overall it was established that CLPP can be utilized as possible filler in developing epoxy based composites.
