Abstract

Energy tariffs have many functions to fulfil. The main one is of course covering the cost of generation and transmission of electric energy. The other one is stimulatory function. Energy tariffs should be constructed and calculated to encourage users to use energy only in specific hours. It has economic grounds and also helps in ensuring power system safety by load curves smoothing. This paper presents an analysis of differentiation of energy tariffs for households in context of potential benefits for user. The aim of the article is to answer if the current energy tariffs can encourage average user to changing their habits of energy consumption?
