Abstract
Ultrasonic intensity distributions have been calculated for uniformly excited asteroidal sources emulating corresponding radially shaded transducers. Improved calculations yielded good agreement with experimental results using lead metaniobate transducers in water. The dependence of asymmetries in transverse intensity distributions upon axial distance and the degree of shading is shown.
