Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) based retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) screening has shown promise in India, but there remains a gap in knowledge as to how to implement AI, and how well it would perform against the clinical diagnosis of treatment-requiring (TR) ROP. The purpose of this paper was to evaluate the performance of the i-ROP DL algorithm, and a vascular severity score (VSS) against clinical diagnosis of treatment-requiring (TR) ROP in the Aravind Eye Hospital (AEH) network.
