Abstract

Background and Aims : Patients with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) are at increased risk of early cardiovascular events, and its main characteristic is the increase in LDL-cholesterol (LDL-c), leading to arterial atherosclerosis, which leads to increased risk for acute myocardial infarction and stroke. The main treatment is done with high potency statins. Arterial stiffness (AS) is an important risk marker for cardiovascular disease, which can be assessed by the patient's pulse wave velocity (PWV) and central systolic blood pressure (CSBP).
