Abstract
Background: Ovarian sparing surgery is the preferred management for benign ovarian masses. The ovarian mass decision pathway described by the American Pediatric Surgical Association can be used preoperatively to evaluate malignancy potential; however, the utility of the pathway has not been studied. Our study objectives were to 1) describe management of adnexal masses at a single tertiary children's hospital by surgical service and 2) evaluate the ovarian mass decision pathway using clinical data from this hospital.
