Abstract

The performance of an industrial X-ray processing system has been investigated by measuring three-dimensional dose distributions in large volumes of absorbing materials with densities ranging from 0.15–0.73 g/cm 3. Both static and moving exposures were made. The results obtained show that X-rays are a practicable source of radiation for treatment processes like the sterilization of medical devices and the preservation of foods.
