Abstract

AbstractThe specificity and generality of using the monthly highest and lowest air temperatures to demonstrate the thermal condition were studied. The monthly highest and lowest air temperature data in August and January were examined. Not only the monthly highest but also the lowest air temperatures described the thermal condition correctly without large variation. The monthly highest air temperature in August reflected particular meteorological conditions relatively easily and correctly described the thermally severe condition. The monthly lowest air temperature in January was the most accurate at describing the thermal condition. The outlier hardly appeared in the monthly lowest air temperature in January.
