Abstract

Isotope shifts between the 238, 239, 240, 241 and 242 isotopes of the plutonium arc spectrum were measured by means of the Fabry-Perot photoelectronic spectrometer (Hypeac). From the measurements, the mass specific shifts of the 16 analysed transitions, were evaluated and the coefficients of the "odd-even staggering" γ239 and γ241 were determined. The nuclear radii deduced from the α emission of the even isotopes enable us to give a prediction of the isotope shifts 236-238, not measured until now.
