Abstract

Conducting a successful diagnosis and treatment method for the subfertility of a female is still complex in the gynecological area. Poor communication between the departments also affects decision making. So, ontology-based decision support systems (DSS) will help easier decision making in the treatment method of subfertility for females. This research aims to evaluate and validate the ontology modeling and DSS. Evaluation and validation are important to provide quality and user satisfaction when developing a DSS. There are many methods to evaluate and validate the ontology model, but we chose the Delphi Technique for this purpose. The ontology model could be evaluated by the OntOlogy Pitfall Scanner! (OOPS!) evaluation editor and validated by ontology experts and the tools DL Query and SPARQL Query. DSS is evaluated by the researcher and validated by the doctors, lecturers, and medical students. Errors and false feeding were rectified and redeveloped by all the evaluation and validation feedback. Several complex scenarios are present in subfertility. Choosing the correct treatment method is important in the subfertility domain. Therefore, the Decision Support System is of significant use in this respect.
