Abstract

Introduction Diabetes is one amongst the common co morbid illnesses in our community. This study is aimed to list out the lesions of diabetic foot according to Wagner's classication. To describe the lesions we study compare and formulate the steps and to reduce morbidity and mortality due to diabetic foot ulcers. Material and methods Between January 2022 and March 2022, 50 patients with diabetic foot attending to department of General Surgery, Govt. Medical College Hospital Cuddalore district, were subjected to management according to the Wagner's classication. Data was tabulated and analysed. Conclusion Majority of the patient presented with high grade and poor sugar control at the time of presenting. Conservative management with antibiotics is helpful in a small subgroup of the patients. Most of the patients needed surgical management from debridement to amputations. Early identication of diabetic risk factors and admission, treatment including medical and surgical means according to the grade can reduce the morbidity mortality and improve the prognosis of the disease
