Abstract
Due to the importance of the desert areas and the vastness of their area and for the purpose of expanding the possibility of investing them agriculturally, this study was carried out in Altarrah project in Anbar governarate in order to evaluate the land suitability for irrigating the cultivation of wheat crop the study area located between 358000-366000 E and 3712000-371700 N. the results indicated that the climate index reached (85.3), which indicates the suitability of the climate for wheat cultivation. The suitable class of the lands of the region were distributed to the two classes N1, which included pedons (P1, P2, P5, P7, P8) and class S3, which included pedons (P6, P4, P3). The limitation factor for wheat cultivation was the gypsum and soil texture.
