Abstract

The decoding of low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes with alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) over discrete memoryless channels is a promising method proposed recently. However, it is not clear how the ADMM decoding performs over the inter-symbol interference (ISI) channels. In this paper, we present the details of turbo equalization with ADMM decoding and evaluate the error-rate performances of the proposed scheme over classical magnetic recording channels. Moreover, we also compare the decoding performances of the proposed method to the interior point decoding method. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme performs better than both the turbo equalization with BP decoding and the interior point decoding in terms of error-rate performances.
