Abstract

In recent years Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymers (GFRP) has laid a strong foundation in manufacturing sector. The unique features of the materials are strength to weight ratio, corrosion resistance, availability and low price. Keeping an eye in the current trend, in the research two different material combinations has added and tested mechanically. The materials added were Carbon Nano Tubes (CNT) and Saw Dust in to the polymer for improving the mechanical property. The main focus is to add a new composite material in the manufacturing sector. The test results were compared to find the suitable material. Test results have revealed that tensile property of GFRP + CNT has shown 0.71 % improvement than GFRP + saw dust, for flexural test GFRP + CNT has shown 4.67 % improvement than GFRP + saw dust, for impact testing GFRP + CNT has shown 26.66 % improvement than GFRP + saw dust and were as for hardness GFRP + saw dust has shown 4.64 % improvement than GFRP + CNT.
