Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the impact of government tax policy on investors‘ decision to startup businesses in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly in the Western North Region of Ghana. A case study was adopted in this study. This study depended on both primary and secondary sources of data. A simple random sampling and purposive sampling methods were used to select respondents for the study. The study involved one hundred and fifteen (115) business investors and two (2) personnel from the Ghana Revenue Authority. It was found out that tax holidays have motivated investors‘ decisions to rely on government tax policy, investors have requested reforms like tax holidays to start up more businesses. It was recommended that the Ghana Revenue Authority should embark on tax education especially tax holidays to engage more investors to start up many businesses.
