Abstract

The paper highlights the potential of Neolamarckia cadamba and gives the compilation of achieved growth and yield after 4 years of being planted in various sites in Malaysia. The growth and yield performance in Kenangan Manis Bhd, Sandakan showed encouraging results as compared with other sites such as Sabah Softwood Bhd, Tawau; Immense Fleet Bhd, Sibu and Setul Forest Reserve, Mantin. The results generated from this study clearly indicate the ecological requirements of the species for better growth. The short-term observation on the site-species requirements further confirmed the natural habitat of the species as being found in the natural forests. Keywords: Forest plantation, Neolamarckia, mean annual diameter increment.
