Abstract

The analog recorded information from Digital Fault Recorder (DFR) analysis is useful information for analyzing the distortion level in the electrical network. This paper develops a methodology for tracking of individual harmonic sources and evaluating the distortion level in localized substations where the DFR is installed. To solve it using Fast Fourier Transform, the captured data are processed on-site to compute the harmonics. The computed harmonics (magnitude) are transmitted to the master station computer where the system wide harmonic flow is constructed.
