Abstract

Abstract When faculty workload data become available, university administrators need to define a plan of action to properly evaluate the faculty workload. The purposes of this research were to (a) show how process control charts can be applied to monitor individual faculty and department workloads, (b) show how supplementary run rules can be used along with process control charts to give early signals for overload or underload, and (c) look at the workload policy with the quality management perspective advocated by W. Edwards Deming.
