Abstract

Human behavior has been estimated as uncertain and complex to investigate road safety issues. By utilizing the recent expansions of ordinary fuzzy sets, the experts in the field intended to handle the vagueness of human behavior by using linguistic terms for the assessment. Pythagorean fuzzy sets (PFSs) are considered a superior method developed for Multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM), enabling both membership and non-membership functions in a large domain area. A novel Pythagorean Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (PF-AHP) is performed to assess and prioritize the critical driver behavior criteria designed in a hierarchical model based on the data gathered from experimental driver groups in Budapest City. Accordingly, based on the aggregated weights, the criterion Lapses is the most critical factors connected to road safety. However, Disobey Speed Limits criterion is found as the most negligible critical factor followed by Disobey Overtaking Rules as the second least factor.
