Abstract

The first and second phase of Taipei Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) networks were operated now, and the additional routes were approved under design and construction. Although the developed MRT network provides great convenience to passengers, the planned new routes and stations usually overlap the operated ones. Therefore, the complexity and difficulty of design and analysis are gradually increased, and the geotechnical analysis tools should also be improved. In this project, risk identification and rating are carried out at first to realize the risk which might happen at each construction schedule. The strategies in accordance with each risk item are figured out at the design stage to mitigate the risk as much as possible. Hence, the numerical analysis (1-D, 2-D, 3-D) follows the strategy suggestions to simulate whether the effect of these risk strategies is enough or not. The feedback database of previous projects from the in-situ monitoring results could provide some basis for numerical analysis to assume the suitable parameter. Therefore, the analysis results could simulate the actual condition closer, and the analysis results should satisfy the related standard demands. For monitoring the safety of the operation station at all times, automatic monitoring system is set up to monitor the deformation immediately during the whole life cycle.
