Abstract

Many people have been eagerly awaiting publication of the British Medical Association’s (BMA’s) guidelines for doctors on the withdrawl of treatment. The debate seemed to have reached a pivotal point over the past few months with the sentencing in the US of Dr Jack Kevorkian to between 10 and 25 years in jail and the removal of a Preston GP from the medical register in this country.
