Abstract

AbstractThe directional freezing of Al‐Cu eutectic alloys under molten salts has been studied. The value of the specific interphase boundary energy σαβ is found to be smaller than CHADWICK'S and of the same order as for other eutectics. An attempt has been made to appreciate the influence of the growth rate on the interlamellar spacing and tensile strength of alloys investigated.
