Abstract

It is often said that euskera is associated with social apathy, the rural environment or the world of children… but what meaning has been given to euskera from Basque cultural activity over the years? What does this tell us in relation to gender? We have tried to answer these questions in this article by analysing the multimodal texts of Basque cultural activity, particularly focusing on the gender perspective. • Key words: meaning, representation, gender perspective, euskzalgintza and multimodal texts
