Abstract

Migration policy of Slovakia, its development and formation before and after the accession of the Slovak Republic to the European Union is still a little explored area. Examining the Europeanisation of migration policy and its shaping is important because of the changes that have taken place after joining the European Union. The aim is to analyze the development of migration policy before and after Slovakia's accession to the European Union. At the same time, however, capture the migration concept of Slovakia and its changes that have occurred and thus point to the degree of Europeanization. Slovakia's accession to the European Union required the application of various and above all fundamental changes in the area of migration policy. For this reason, it is possible to speak of Europeanization by means of several theories of Europeanization. As a result, Slovak migration policy has been europeanised, thus adapted to European legislation and institutional adaptation.
