Abstract

The presentation addresses the interaction between European social policy and civil society and in particular the role of the latter in the formulation of European social policy through the instrument of the Open Method of Coordination (OMC). The presentation will also focus on the Greek experience regarding the involvement of NGOs in the OMC process on social inclusion, based on the preliminary results from the Programme “Working together for an inclusive society”, implemented by the Scientific Society for Social Cohesion and Development and funded under the PROGRESS Community Programme.
