Abstract

The European High Pressure Research Group held its 22nd meeting September 11–14 at Aussois, France, located in the French Alps east of Grenoble. This was a lively meeting which included 120 researchers from throughout Europe, North America, and Asia. The emphasis was mainly on physics and chemistry at high pressures, but one of the half‐day sessions was specifically devoted to geophysics and planetary physics. In addition, much of the discussion throughout the meeting raised issues that are of interest to those in mineral physics and experimental geophysics. The proceedings, which will be published in the Journal de Physique‐Colloque, should appear in 1985, and a few highlights are described here.
