Abstract
The European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) decided to participate in Expo 58 as an independent participant. It designed and built its own pavilion as well as various slogans and public communication outputs such as films and brochures. This chapter provides an analysis of the ECSC’s participation in Expo 58, the external and internal architecture of the pavilion, its messages and how the ECSC attempted to publicly represent the civil side of Europe to a large European public.
