Abstract
Work Package 4 “Tools, technologies and surface protection systems minimizing the negative influence of corrosion or surface damage on the axle surface” of the EURAXLES project aimed on development of practical solutions for wheelset protection systems to avoid corrosion and damages at the axles and thus minimizing the risk of axle failures. The work included investigations for improving the paint adhesion by grit-blasting of the axle surface, alternative and innovative coating systems, recommendations for quality tests of painting and coatings and also investigation of unpainted axles. Arbeitspaket 4 “Methoden, Technologien und Oberflächenschutzsysteme zur Minimierung des negativen Einflusses durch Korrosion oder Oberflächenschäden an der freien Oberfläche von Radsatzwellen“ des Projekts EURAXLES hatte die Entwicklung von praktischen Lösungen für Radsatzschutzsysteme zum Ziel, um Korrosion und Schäden an Radsatzwellen und dadurch das Risiko von Radsatzwellenausfällen zu minimieren. Die Arbeiten beinhalteten Untersuchungen zur Verbesserung der Adhäsion durch Stahlkiesstrahlen der Wellenoberfläche, zu alternativen und innovativen Beschichtungssystemen, Empfehlungen für die Qualitätstest zu Beschichtungen sowie Untersuchungen an unbeschichteten Radsatzwellen.
