Abstract

A variational method is applied for the solution of the Schrödinger equation for a three-particle system interacting via central spin-dependent potentials. The trial wave function is calculated by means of a Euler procedure and it is improved by adding to it a set of correlated basis wave functions. The results obtained for three nucleons interacting via the Malfliet-Tjon potential are in close agreement with those given by the Faddeev theory.
