A mallard hen followed by her puddle of ducklings, beaver, otter, frogs, lily pads, floating oak leaves, and fish abound in the pond. Young visitors afraid of upcoming medical appointments may easily be distracted from their concerns—if only for a moment—with the sights and sounds of Eugenio Litta Children's Hospital Pond (please see Supplemental Video, available online at http://www.mayoclinicproceedings.org). Eugenio Litta Children's Hospital Pond is located on the second floor atrium of the Mary Brigh Building in the Saint Marys Hospital complex in Rochester, Minnesota.
