Abstract

Creatinine (CR) assay in biological fluids is an emerging clinical tool for assessing renal failure, thyroid dysfunction, and muscular injuries. As a result, a simple, quick, and effective CR determinationapproach is critical to human health. A new fluorescent nanosensor, Eu3+-doped strontium vanadate perovskite quantum dots (Eu3+:SrV PQDs), are produced in this study via a solid-state reaction of Sr(NO3)2, VCl3, and Eu(CH3CO2)3 and followed by ultrasonication treatment. The as-synthesized Eu3+:SrV PQDs showed greenish-blue fluorescence when exposed to UV light and exhibited stable fluorescence with a quantum yield of 14.36 %. The greenish-blue emitting Eu3+:SrV PQDs are used as fluorescent nanosensor for the assay of CR with good specificity and sensitivity (the lowest limit of detection was 16 nM). Furthermore, the present approach was also applied to analyze CR in biological samples.
