Abstract

This paper deals with the notion of freedom in Soren Kierkegaard, as interpreted by Cornelius Fabro. In primis, the biographical and philosophical events of the Danish thinker are presented in order to show how they were decisive in their theoretical elaboration. Next, an exposition of his critique of modernity on the dissolution of freedom through the ethical vacuum and lack of reasoning is made. Finally, the Kierkegaardian conception of freedom is represented as the choice of the 'I' before the Absolute.
