Abstract

Abstract The structure of the Loube massif in Var, France, is typical of the ranges of Provence. The Jurassic cover is divided into a mosaic of independently dislocated segments, reflecting the effects of recurrent movement of basement structures. Development of the mosaic structure and east-west folding in the Cretaceous were succeeded by overthrusting and deformation in the Lutetian-Bartonian (Eocene), with an intervening period of erosion.
