Abstract
With the Mössbauer effect we have measured the sublattice magnetizations of the Fe 3+ ions in the A and B sublattices of NiFe 2O 4, as a function of temperature. Calculations with a Weissfield model give good agreement with experiment only if we assume there is a rather strong positive B- B interaction between the Ni 2+ ions and the Fe 3+ ions in octahedral sites.
